“Seeking knowledge is compulsory upon every Muslim (male and female)” – Muhammad (s.a.w).
Islamic knowledge is important in order for us to come close to Allah s.w.t. In this lecture, Ustadh Mahmud explains that
three things are absolutely necessary to gain the pleasure of Allah s.w.t. They are ‘Ilm (knowledge), ‘Amal (practice) and
Ikhlas (sincerity).

The first duty of a Muslim is to learn the basic Fara’id of Islam. The series of lectures entitled 54 Fara’id,
delivered by Ustadh Mahmud A. Kürkçü, covers the basics of Islam as enumerated by the great Imam of the tabi’een,
Hasan Al-Basri (rh). It is incumbent upon every Muslim to be aware of and put these basic principles into practice
in their daily lives.
