This lecture covers part 2 of the fifth fard and part 1 of the sixth fard. The fifth fard is “To make ghusl when it is required”. Ghusl is an essential part of one’s faith without which a Muslim cannot perform many forms of ibadah (worship). In this fard, Ustadh Mahmud explains the conditions under which one is required to make ghusl as well as how to make ghusl correctly. The sixth fard is “To believe in and put absolute trust in Allah’s promise in taking of one’s sustenance (Rizq)”. Rizq is defined according to what enters one’s stomach. One’s rizq is fixed and Allah is the guarantor of one’s rizq. Ustadh Mahmud explains the importance of having full trust in Allah when it comes to one’s rizq. The series of lectures entitled 54 Fara’id, delivered by Ustadh Mahmud A. Kürkçü, covers the basics of Islam as enumerated by the great Imam of the tabi’een, Hasan Al-Basri (rh). It is incumbent upon every Muslim to be aware of and put these basic principles into practice in their daily lives.
