Topic: Mindset of a Muslim
In this video, Ustadh Mahmud goes through the following hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn Masud (r.a).
Rasulullah (s.a.w) said: He who wakes up in the morning and his concern is other than Allah s.w.t then he has nothing to do with Allah s.w.t. He who wakes up in the morning, without any concern for his fellow Muslims then he is definitely not one of them.
Rasulullah (s.a.w) said: A Muslim who wakes up in the morning and is depressed with his worldly affairs has actually woken up with an anger towards Allah s.w.t. He who complains about his worldly needs actually complains against his Lord, Allah s.w.t. He who is humble to some rich man on account of the latter’s wealth has lost two- thirds of his religion. He who reads the Quran, but despite this enters the hell- fire because he did not take the commands of Allah s.w.t in the Quran seriously.
Rasulullah (s.a.w) said: He who is afflicted by poverty and complains to others, then Allah s.w.t will not remove his poverty. On the other hand, he who is afflicted by poverty and asks Allah s.w.t for help, if this person dies, Allah s.w.t will reward him in the hereafter and if he is alive, Allah s.w.t will reward him with richness.
Ustadh Mahmud explains these ahadith in detail and provides a powerful reminder of the mindset a Muslim should have towards Allah s.w.t and His creation.
